Eric Armstrong is looking to fill the seat of Iowa House Rep. Josh Turek. Armstrong announced his candidacy for House District 20 late last year and has begun hosting events, including a campaign launch event at Barley's Bar and Grill on Feb 13.

Armstrong looks to fill Tureks' shoes as Turek makes a run for the U.S. Senate. Armstrong's decision to run comes partially from the suggestion of Turek.

Armstrong and Turek worked on a bill together last legislative session to loosen restrictions on material that could be used for boat docks. . . Turek suggested Armstrong should consider running for his seat . . .”

Armstrong said that some of his priorities include property taxes, development, education, and minimum wage.

“I'm not looking at political labels here.  This is not about trying to polarize. This is about coming together and doing what is right for House District 20 . . .”

Armstrong said that his favorite part of the campaign so far has been knocking doors and talking with people.

“I really do believe that to earn the right to represent the district, I need to be out there, and I listen. . . .”
